BOB CIMBALO


Biography

A native of Utica, New York, Robert Cimbalo studied at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, under Fritz Eichenberg, Richard Lindner, and Philip Pearlstein, and in the studio of Roberto Bulla in Rome, Italy, where he met and worked alongside Giorgio de Chirico, Emilio Greco, and Renato Guttuso. After earning a master's in fine arts at Syracuse University, Cimbalo created a Graphic Arts Department at the Munson-Williams-Proctor Arts Institute in Utica, where he worked and taught for twelve years, and in 1980 he accepted a teaching position at Utica College (then a branch of Syracuse University). Eugene Paul Nassar is Professor Emeritus of English at Utica College.
